Dick Tracy: Dead or Alive #1 is the first issue in a 4-issue limited series released by IDW in 2018.

Plot
Police detective Dick Tracy is fired from his position in the San Francisco Police Department after arresting a prominent (but guilty) citizen. He then takes a job on the police force in Chicago.
Immediately upon arriving in his new city, Tracy arrests several high-ranking members of the local government for corruption. This leads him to an encounter with Big Boy, the local crime boss.
Big Boy is arrested and faces the death penalty for long-standing murder conviction. His execution does not go as planned.
